Iain and Catherine’s Hodsock Priory Wedding
When Iain and Catherine asked me to be their Hodsock Priory wedding photographer I was super excited. I had wanted to photograph a wedding there for a while and who better to be with than these two!
Blyth Church was the location for their ceremony as both Iain and Catherine were wanting to keep this tradition a part of their day. The weather was certainly in their favour, some warm August sun beating down. After the ceremony the vicar organised everyone to have a celebratory drink and some canapés within the church itself, it was lovely change and gave the guests a little more time appreciate the surroundings in which they were- an incredibly intricate and old building.
All aboard a vintage bus. We made the short journey back to Hodsock Priory. Hodsock is an idyllic setting, So as the wedding party got ready to throw their confetti into the air Iain and Catherine embraced and kissed! The lawn games began. There was no shortage of laughter thats for sure. It was after this that everyone began to be seated and Iain and Catherine made their entrance for the speeches and food . There were some very touching moments during the speeches and of course the speeches were finished by the best man Toby. It was great touch to get everyone outside of his speech, the evening was that of a perfect summer.
Iain and Catherine got whisked away for as few creative photographs on their own, the low golden light was too good to pass up. The grounds are just endless, we could’ve spent hours walking around, however there was the small matter of a cake cutting and first dance to get to! Before the first dance began everyone enjoyed watching Iain and Catherines engagement film, done by the talented Cine Collective. The dancing started and that was it, it didn’t stop. Well not until it was time to bid farewell to the happy couple with a sparkler send off. That was the flawless end to their day.
