Matt and Sophi – Duntreath Castle wedding
A Duntreath Castle wedding was always going to be impressive. I remember when Matt and Sophi originally got in touch I just had to get straight on google and see the place. Then seeing it in person didn’t disappoint. WHAT a backdrop. The misty moody weather just accentuated it.
The strong family ties for Sophi made Scotland the ideal choice for hosting their wedding. Morning prep began just a stones throw from the Church. Cairns Chruch, it’s the very church Sophi’s parents got married at. Thats pretty special really, thats family history.
Matt and the boys got ready in a nearby hotel. Jo, my second shooter got a little more than she signed up for. Upon her arrival they announced that the start of their day involved a rather brisk climb up a rather large hill. Sorry Jo.
Following the ceremony at Cairns Church we headed for Duntreath. The approach is postcard-worthy. Matt and Sophi had a brilliantly styled marquee, a personal highlight for me was their cake. With a special mention also to the handmade bunting. Check that out.
The grounds of the castle are vast, it’s a real treat. which in turn meant time for wedding wellies. After a wander with Matt and Sophi it was about time it started raining. We were in Scotland after all. Nothing to worry about when it was food o’clock anyway. Good timing.
After the meal and speeches came the evening celebrations. Celebrate they did. The first dance got things kicked off. Its no secret that I love a Ceilidh band and as per my suspicions it was excellent! Thats some partying. What an end to their Duntreath Castle wedding.
