Dee and Lauren are two people you would want to be your mates. They just emit these chilled, carefree yet confident vibes. So heres their day of laidback luxury done to a tee.
What an absolute dream day, a pleasure to be a part of. Dewsall Court and its stunning scenery played hosts to these two and their nearest and dearest. Upon arriving for preparations Dee came to greet me. A beaming smile hiding behind his shades was a good sign. This wasn’t nerves or stress, this was a man ready for his wedding. We had a quick walk about the place to get the flow of the day sorted. Then we parted ways as I headed up to see Lauren. Now, I walk into some very different bridal prep rooms. Everyones got their own way of doing things. What struck me with this bunch was the openness and welcoming feeling.
Im going to have to say it, I know us photographers bang on about it. THE LIGHT. Its mega in old buildings with their large sash windows. Dewsall oozes character and style. It just makes documenting a wedding such a pleasure. As Lauren’s Father was waiting by the doors to see her for the first time the doorway illuminated him perfectly. The emotions in that moment were palpable. Capturing that is truly special.
Having said this the ceremony was all happening outdoors in the woodland meadows. A wise choice and as luck would have it, beautiful sunshine. The dappled light meandered through the foliage above, dancing playfully on the guests as they awaited Lauren’s arrival. Its just a short walk down to the trees and everything would be underway. There were some beautiful reactions, a real display of the love for these two.
The fun begins, drinks are flowing. An incredible acoustic backdrop to the socialising. A mighty fine musical duo. Champagne anyone!? Idyllic. I really didn’t want this day to end.
I would be back in a heartbeat for another Dewsall Court wedding. What a dream.
