Alessandro and Emily – White Hart Lydgate wedding
Being a White Hart Lydgate wedding photographer was a first for me. Alessandro and Emily’s wedding was so well suited to the venue and they made such a great use of the White Hart and the surrounding area. Bridal prep was in a cottage thats part of the White hart itself which meant only a short walk round to the ceremony. The ceremony was the perfect compromise between a full outdoor ceremony and being able to carry on regardless of the weather. We were all under a timber framed but open sided building which meant we had a real connection to the outdoors. The ceremony itself wasn’t a very long affair, it did have plenty of personal touches though and the registrars were some of the best I’ve come across!
When the ceremony was over the guests had ‘pimp your Prosecco’ and canapés. It was then confetti time, Alessandro and Emily’s wedding certainly wasn’t short of the stuff. It did make for some great pictures though. We took a stroll with the bridal party and it came as a welcome break from the crowd. After a few mins the rest went back to the wedding and Alessandro and Emily wandered a bit further for some pictures together. Emily found a horse, well not just one, a field of them which she beckoned over. It could have been the bouquet aka lunch they were wanting but who knows!
Upon our return it was almost time for speeches. These were packed with wonderful anecdotes and jokes a plenty. Im sure you can see that by some of the expressions and amusing faces. We took the opportunity after the speeches to take a walk up the road to beautiful sight seeing spot. The light was fading but this is my favourite time to photograph. The view over the valley was still getting bathed in the last of the sun, we weren’t here long. Just enough time before we headed back for the evening celebrations.
The night do certainly was going to be a lively one. I could already tell from some of the characters who had been there throughout the day. It didn’t fall short of my expectations. As soon as Alessandro and Emily had finished their first dance (to Fatboy Slim’s ‘Praise you’ no less) guests flooded the dance floor. Hopefully the photos at the end will tell the story better than I can!
