Chris and Melissa’s – Burghley House wedding
I had a fantastic time being a Burghley House wedding photographer. To start of with look at those beautiful cats in Melissa’s parent’s ‘arts and crafts’ home. The details and preparations from the morning were lovely and full of character. It was a really relaxed atmosphere and everyone was looking forward to the ceremony.
The ceremony was in the Summer house at Burghley, you couldn’t wish for a more idyllic setting. As the guest arrived they enjoyed a short walk down form the main house there were stunning views over the lake and countryside. As Melissa arrived Chris and the rest of the guests had to be in and seated, no prying eyes here trying to catch a glimpse of the bride as the car came. With such an intimate space the ceremony felt even more special.
As these two newly weds walked out the guests greeted them with a shower of confetti. Before we left we found more than enough time for some garden games and laughter. As the wedding reception was elsewhere we thought it best to get some pictures of Chris and Melissa in the grounds of Burghley.
It was then onto the Falcon Hotel at Uppingham for speeches and the wedding breakfast. Uppingham is an equally pretty little place with the traditional features of the Falcon inn fitting in perfectly with the wedding day. The evening light was beautiful so after a brief walk out in the streets we had to get back for the celebrations. There was dancing and drinking long into the night!
